Hi Reed,

If Taylor College has space, would an inclusive transitional shelter be an option? A group I'm calling 'the church gathering', which has church leaders from Saint John gather to discuss the church's role in meeting the needs of Saint John's marginalized has been discussing an out the cold program. The Grace may provide space, and the Salvation Army's Jack Frost mobile transportation. All churches will need to supply volunteers. If Taylor College is better equipped and underutilized perhaps it would be a better space???? I pray that this winter I do not find myself in the position of not having ANYWHERE to send a homeless individual/family.

Peace & Grace,

Luke's gospel has been my focus lately. Jesus sure has a lot to tell us about the Father's great love and faithfulness!

I'm not nearly half the reader you are Reed, but my spirit has had much the same leading lately to look into His person through His words and actions recorded with Red Letters... To know Him!
Right On my friend!

"The proclamation of Jesus is not the Good News, Jesus himself is the Good News. Our mission and our Christian unity hinge on our personal knowledge of Him and our obedience to Him."

Reed,
As we read and re-read His words we are brought to a clearer understanding of just what He requires of us as we walk out our relationship with Him in the world. Thanks be to God He loves us so that He continues to chase after us like a 'hound from heaven.' Can we do but less for those who are lost?
Blessings

"...if I follow Jesus and his indifference to riches I can perhaps be a part of the community of the broken which gathers around Him, who is our only hope and healer. I think that may be the life worth pursuing."

Reed,
What a profound yet simple statement! May each of us who seek His face and are astoundingly compelled to know Him more fully be always surrounded by those Jesus loves unconditionally, and I might say very richly when they but receive!!
Love you, Brother. Jim's & my best to the Uptown Folk!!
Blessings in His Name,
Frankie

Reed, finding a balance is always a struggle, isn't it? The question is always, "Am I giving it my all?" The good news is that God knows our hearts, and He measures our desire to be sold out to Him in meeting the needs placed before us by His standards and not by ours!! Continued blessing upon both you and Linda as your walk our so beautifully your call in service to Him and to His honor and glory! Safe travel!!!

We can walk oblivious in the Kingdom the Lord has placed us into and that is okay for a time! And then comes the time in our walk in the Kingdom Garden that we need to understand what we are doing and seeing. Relational Generosity is a great way to express the walk we enjoy with the poor and sharing what we have been given is an immense and meaningful way to experience the fullness of the Kingdom of God.

If each of us could just admit that we are broken and desperately need each other, how much more healthy our communities (and our churches) would be both individually and collectively. My most "broken" prayer partner is in fact my strongest intercessor, with a pipeline straight to God's throne of grace and mercy!! Thanks be to God for "uptown & downtown folk" and all they teach and impart to the rest of us!!
Blessings!!
